Well, the Vegas Golden Knights upset the Colorado Avalanche to go to the Stanley Cup Finals from the Western Conference, and the Canes play the Montreal Canadiens tonight with a chance to go up 3-1 and finish off the series at home on Friday. It will be interesting to see how tonight goes because the Canadiens are playing really, really well. They're a young team. They've had quite a bit of disappointment in recent years, save for the pandemic year where they made the advance to the Stanley Cup Finals out of nowhere. But Carolina, I think, really is on the cusp of finally breaking through and winning the Stanley Cup. They had that one really bad game in Game 1 of the series at home, and then they knocked the rust off the last two nights. Tonight is going to be a statement game for the Hurricanes, I think. They've got to show that they're clearly the better team. They've got to win this game in regulation tonight to kind of make a statement that they're ready to break the curse of the Eastern Conference Finals and break through the Stanley Cup Finals and win the whole damn thing. They're good enough to do it, in my opinion. They've got the hot gold tender for the most part. They've got the work ethic. They remind me a lot of the 2006 team that won the Stanley Cup. It will not be an easy task against the Vegas Golden Knights. You're a good team when you can sweep the Colorado Avalanche, which I was shocked at. I figured that the Avalanche would win that series in six or seven games, but for Vegas to sweep the Avalanche, yeah, that's a statement, to say the least. But I'm still confident my Canes can win the whole thing. I just look at the way they've played the last two nights. They've gutted out two wins where they could have easily lost those two games. Tonight, they've got to come out and make a statement. They've got to end this series tonight. If they beat Montreal in their own place and beat them 3-1 or 4-1 or something like that to completely go, this is our series, we're going to win it at home on Friday, I think it breaks Montreal's backs and I think they'll win it on Friday. That's just me, though. I remember not too long ago when we didn't make it to the playoffs for years and we sucked and Brendan Moore comes in and he's really changed the culture since 2019. We've had a really good run. Sure, we've not made the Stanley Cup finals and such, but I think this is the year we break through. I think we win the Cup this year. We've still got six wins to go. There's no guarantees, but I'm confident we've got a shot, a really good shot.
