Reviving the Podcast: A New Chapter
Show transcript

Hello everyone. I am starting out by saying that I come from a long line of podcasts. I believe back in 2007 I was one of the first ones, honestly, and so I've got 405 episodes under my belt that range anywhere from 32 minutes up

to seven or eight hours long. So I've got the history, but my wife and I have been dormant in the podcast genre for the past six years. We stopped in, I want to say, April of 2020, right after my 13-year anniversary

of the show. It started out as a podcast and ended up going into a live internet show, internet radio show, where we topped out at 15,000 listeners a week with a Zoom and just tons of stuff. We've interviewed over 300 bands, actors,

directors, producers, writers, you name it, and it was a ton of fun, but it was so time-consuming. It would take up most of my week just to do prep for the shows. So over the last year, my wife and I have had a lot of struggles in another aspect of our life, which was we started our own cornhole club and organization, and it grew pretty quick and grew pretty big. We had 120 members and we were playing

three to four times a week. Then things kind of fell off the rail back in October over some stupid political comment that was made between myself and a 20-year-old kid. Since then, there has been political fallout, and then come just this past

spring, there was a different kind of fallout where people just stopped showing up and stopped talking to us and found out that people were spreading rumors that we were trying to use our cornhole events to seduce women, of all things. So that's been the past year, and you know, we've

been able to put that past us now, but now the question is, all right, do we try to bring back this podcast that we used to do, even in a smaller form, smaller fashion, but still our same characters or people, and obviously the name. So it's

something we're considering. My wife's on board as long as we leave expectations at the door, and I think that's gonna have to be key, that if we do this, it's gonna have to be for us and not for anybody else.

I don't know, tell me what you think.
