Knicks Effectively Win NBA Championship: Spurs' Epic Collapse
Show transcript

You can go ahead and congratulate the Knicks and give them the Larry O'Brien trophy because they won the NBA championship last night by that massive comeback against the Spurs last night at home in game four. That's the kind of loss, in my opinion, you don't come back from. You're down three games to one. Yeah, you've got game five in your home arena, but the Knicks have three shots to win the championship. Granted, two of them are away, but game six at home, if I'm the Knicks, I'm coming for the jugular. And and here's the thing that San Antonio hates is the fact they threw everything they had at the Knicks, and then when it got time to close it out, they choked it away. This is a bigger choke job than the Falcons against the Patriots in that Super Bowl. Twenty eight, three. I'm going to say it, the Falcons, you're off the hook. Congratulations, you're off the hook. I never would have imagined it, but last night, San Antonio had a bigger choke job than the Falcons in a Super Bowl because San Antonio should have tied this series up at two games apiece. They go back to San Antonio for game five. That would have swung momentum right back to the Spurs, and the Spurs would have been the catbird seat to win the NBA championship. Instead, New York's up three games to one, and this series, in my opinion, is over. It's over. Because how do you recover from a loss like you don't? You may win game five and take it back to New York. But you better hope somebody gets hurt on the neck because if they don't, you're in trouble. And I just don't see that. I just do not see how the Knicks are going to lose. I really, really freaking don't. It's just that kind of win where they plug back and plugged and plugged and worked and grinded, grinded, grinded, and came back to win that game. Folks, I've been a sports fan for over 40 years, 45 years, something like that. I've seen great comebacks. I've seen Boston come back from three games to none down. I saw the Cavaliers come back from three games to one down against Golden State. Spurs ain't going to do that. No. Their back is broken. Last night, they should have put away the Knicks, and they didn't do it. They hurt them in such a way, psychologically, with that comeback, that I think unless somehow or another Popovich comes down for a pep talk for the ages and for game five, I don't see the Spurs winning this series at all. I don't think any team aside from the Cavaliers has come back from three games to one down. Could the Spurs do it? Yeah, theoretically possible. They've got the talent to do it. But when you lose a game like you lost in game four, and you're questioning everything, and my opinion is this series is over. Just give the Knicks the championship. The trophy is going to be in the building. I think that this series is over with. You can pretty much hand the trophy over to the Knicks because how do you come back from that? I don't think you can.
